Meet the Team: Atalie Swanson

January 12, 2021

During the summer of 2019, we introduced you to our team members through some fun questions so you could get to know them better.

We had two new members join our team since then, and we would now like to introduce you to Atalie! Atalie began her career with RSA this past August and we're so glad to have her on board! Keep reading and learn a little about our new architectural drafter.

What is your favorite architectural style?
Recently I’ve been enjoying minimalistic architecture. I really like the look of clean straight lines.

What is your favorite phase of the design process?
I like the design development phase. I’m detail oriented, so it’s fascinating to me to see the details of a project come together.

Describe RSA in one word:
Embracing!

What is your vision of architecture & interior design 10 years from now?
I’m envisioning designs that are more economically friendly as well as earth friendly with more reuse of materials.

What is your favorite tool of the trade?
Revit. I learned it in college but didn’t use it for a couple years so it’s been an enjoyable opportunity to relearn it again.

What is your favorite thing to do outside of work?
I enjoy being around my family, camping with extended family, and visiting my brother in Colorado.

What is your latest adventure?
I bought a house 3 years ago and I’ve recently been renovating my basement. My parents have helped me do all the work, so I’m very grateful for them.

Where is your favorite place to visit?
I planned and took a trip to New York City around a Taylor Swift concert (I’m a huge fan) a couple of years ago. I would go back in a heartbeat. I also went to Europe over 10 years ago and I’m planning to go again in a year or two.

What is your favorite place in South Dakota?
My family went camping at Sheridan Lake a couple summers ago now. The views are spectacular!

What is something people might find surprising about you?
I was born in the bathroom of my childhood home! My dad delivered me.
