De Smet Event & Wellness Center

RSArchitects worked together with the De Smet Development Corporation and community leaders to plan and program the new community center for the City of De Smet. The design focused on De Smet’s history and culture in order to fulfill the needs of the city’s residents for a place that would be welcoming for the entire community.

The new event and wellness center is located adjacent to the high school football field and serves game attendants with concessions and restroom facilities. Interior views are focused from the event space to the football field providing visual connection, and allowing tailgating and interior viewing during inclement weather. The community center amenities include a multi-purpose room, a fitness area, a stage with theatre seating, meeting rooms, a kitchen, locker rooms, a reception entry, and a walking track.
